The Role 

As an Area Manager you will be the external face of First Milk, liaising with members and stakeholders in dealing with complex issues. You will support members to enable them to deliver for First Milk and achieve the best returns possible, particularly from a regenerative farming perspective, increasing the supply of quality milk enabling First Milk to deliver for its customers.  In addition, you will contribute by being the primary interface in building a strong sustainable business that builds member confidence to ensure they want to join and remain part of the First Milk family.   

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage Milk volumes across your portfolio to retain members by providing an excellent service through regular communication on First Milk developments. 
• Increase milk volumes through existing members, and recruit new milk volumes. 
• Conduct regenerative farm reviews and support our members to achieve their targets by visiting farms and working alongside the members on strategy.  
• Manage relationships and records with suppliers. 
• Represent First Milk with local milk haulage contractors, at recruitment events and local shows.  
• Supporting a continuous improvement culture across the organisation bringing examples of best practices and new ideas 

About You 

To be considered as our Area Manager, you will need: 

• Degree/HND level qualification (or equivalent) in agriculture or similar is desirable. 
• Valid UK driving licence 
• Previous experience of working with farmers and producers.  Ideally 2 years’ experience in a sales or commercial capacity  

• Detailed knowledge and awareness of agricultural issues, especially in the dairy farming sector 
• High level understanding of milk production methods and regenerative farming  
• Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively with farmers and colleagues. 
• Good negotiation and influencing skills. 
• Self-motivated, able to demonstrate initiative and work on own with minimum supervision. 
• Excellent engagement, influencing and selling skills.  
• Able to build on and articulate the business proposition to provide a compelling proposition to potential new members
