Royal Seal of Approval for Pembrokeshire Cheese Company
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall descended upon Pembrokeshire on Wednesday (29 June), during a visit to Tenby.
As part of a Pembrokeshire food event, the Royal Highness’ were invited to sample the produce of food and drink suppliers from across Pembrokeshire including our award winning Pembrokeshire Cheese Company Extra Mature cheddar.
Haverfordwest Creamery manager Tim Whittal Williams, commented: “I am delighted that our award winning Pembrokeshire cheddar has officially been given the Royal seal of approval.
“The couple were very impressed by our cheese and I made a point of promoting the provenance of our cheddar and the 294 farms that supply our Haverfordwest Creamery. Creamery planning and stock control manager Jack Eade even got them involved in grading a 20kg block of cheese firstly through its appearance, its aroma, its texture and then its taste.
“The Prince of Wales commented on how delicious our cheese tasted and the Duchess of Cornwall praised its very smooth flavour,” Tim added.
