our farmers

As a co-operative, our farmers ultimately determine the strategy of the business and the basis of the trading relationships through which they supply their milk and invest their capital.

Every member has the opportunity to become a Council Member and to stand for election to the Board.

Member Council

The Member Council's role is to oversee the strategy of the business and to ensure the business acts in the best interests of its members and deals commercially, within co-operative principles, with the challenges and opportunities ahead. The Council has begun the process of recruiting an independent Council chair, as recommended by the Greenburn Report. Please contact any of the Council members listed below on member representation matters. Operational queries should be taken up with a member of the Farm Enterprise Team.

The seven First Milk members who are on the council are listed below. They were selected following a robust and independently scrutinised process, chaired by non-executive director and former Müller Wiseman Dairies / Adams Foods MD, Carl Ravenhall.
