UK's biggest year in cycling creates sales boost for First Milk

10th June 2014

With less than a month to go until the Tour de France's "Grand Depart" in Yorkshire, First Milk's partnership with Team Sky has led to listings in hundreds of retail outlets for its new dairy-based high protein smoothies and porridges.

First Milk's nutritional specialists CNP, have worked with Team Sky since its inception in 2010, and are an official supplier to the team. It has developed bars, gels, protein powders and supplements, which helped power the team to victory in both the 2012 and 2013 Tour de France races.

David Young, First Milk and CNP's marketing director said: "We are delighted that from Monday 16 June our Team Sky range will go on sale in nearly 500 Tesco stores around the country.

"With over 3 million cycling fans expected to line the roads in the UK between 5-7 July, we have also secured a great sales opportunity, via listings in 80 Tesco Express stores located along the route of the Yorkshire stages of Le Tour. Other retailers will be stocking the range over coming months.

"With the nutritional credibility of CNP and the Team Sky track record on consistently improving performance, we have a dairy-based high protein proposition that is totally different to anything else on the market. We are focused on delivering value from every part of our member's milk, with whey proteins from our creameries being a key part of this.

"These listings demonstrate that our added value strategy is working and that we are progressing well with our main aim of driving greater returns for our members."
