Richard Greenhalgh to Retire as First Milk Chairman

Richard Greenhalgh, chairman of First Milk, has today notified the Board that he is planning to retire from the chairmanship at the next AGM (29 October 2009).

Richard Greenhalgh said: "By the AGM, I will have been in role for five years. I believe that the timing is now right for First Milk to appoint a new chairman to allow me to devote more time to my other interests. I remain firmly convinced of the benefits of the farmer owned business model and will maintain a keen interest in the progress of First Milk."

Peter Humphreys, Group chief executive, said: "On behalf of the business, I thank Richard for his efforts at First Milk over the last five years. I look forward to working with him to ensure a smooth transition to his successor, and wish Richard well for the future."
