Mull of Kintyre cheddar has been crowned the Best Scottish Cheese after a triumphant win at the International Cheese Awards 2010, the largest cheese show in the world.
The brand, which is owned by First Milk, the UK's largest dairy farmer-owned business, is made at the Campbeltown Creamery using 100% Scottish milk supplied by the 41 farmers on the Kintyre peninsula and the Isle of Gigha.
Creamery manager Chris Wareham, said: "We are absolutely delighted that our Mull of Kintyre cheddar is officially the Best Scottish Cheese. We always knew we made the best cheese in Scotland and now it's official. The 29 employees at the creamery are very proud of our cheese and this accolade is testament to the supreme quality of our cheddar and milk supply."
The brand continues to go from strength to strength attracting nationwide appeal, with listings in all of the major retailers.
