The brand – carefully crafted at the Campbeltown Creamery – is made using 100% Scottish milk supplied by 38 farmers on the Kintyre peninsula and the Isle of Gigha.
This success – in one of the most prestigious cheese shows of the 2011 season - further underlines our reputation as a producer of consistently high quality award-winning cheese, which consumers love and trust.
Creamery manager Chris Wareham is chuffed to bits with the success: "We are absolutely delighted that our Mull of Kintyre cheddar is once again officially the Best Scottish Cheese. We've always known we made the best cheese in Scotland and now it's official, yet again.
"Our talented cheese makers are creating superb quality Cheddar with the finest quality milk supplied by local dairy farms. Cheese making is both a science and an art and we are delighted to have beaten the competition. The 27 strong creamery team are absolutely delighted at our success," said Chris.
The brand continues to go from strength to strength attracting nationwide appeal, with listings in all of the major retailers.
