Stephen Knight, Account Director ASDA

The new appointments add depth and experience to the leadership team as the strategy for the First Milk Cheese Company is developed.

David Cook, Category Development Director

David's role includes responsibility for working with retailers on New Product Development programmes, regional brand development for First Milk's award-winning Highlands & Islands cheeses, and providing industry-leading category insight to support the business strategy.

The cheese trading team enables First Milk to supplement the 50,000 tonnes of cheese they produce at their own creameries in Cumbria and Pembrokeshire, with 20,000 tonnes purchased from wholesale and specialist cheese suppliers, in order to provide a one-stop shop for its retailer and food service customers. Stephen will also be responsible for business development with Morrison's.

Stephen joins First Milk from Dairy Farmers of Britain where he was Business Controller, managing key accounts for Tesco, ASDA, Morrison's, Sainsbury's and Waitrose. He has previously also worked for both Express Dairies / Arla Foods and Northern Foods.

Stephen Knight, Account Director ASDA

Stephen Knight joins The First Milk Cheese Company to head up the dedicated ASDA team. Cheese is supplied to the retailer from the Aspatria Creamery in Cumbria.

Stephen was previously Interim Senior Commercial Manager at Ginsters where he was responsible for the management of their Foodservice business, and latterly their Morrison's business. Prior to this, he worked with Nestlé, where his most recent role was Channel Controller responsible for the Impulse business.

Commenting on all three appointments, Jeff Halliwell, Managing Director for The First Milk Cheese Company said, It is extremely pleasing to be able to announce three appointments of such calibre.
