The Lake District Cheese Company has gone national, with expansion into major retailers throughout England.
From next month, the Lake District cheese range will be found on the shelves in Morrisons stores across England. The brand has already secured listings in Tesco, Asda, Somerfield, Waitrose and Booths stores in the north.
And, as part of the nationwide drive to promote the Lake District brand, the creamery has signed an advertising sponsorship deal with the 2009 Rugby Super League, which attracts a weekly TV audience of two million viewers.
The TV deal also coincides with a UK-wide nationwide promotion of the Lake District Cheese Company's cheddar range in Tesco.
Richard Hollingdale, sales and marketing director of the Lake District Cheese Company, said: "Looking to the future, we have plans to grow sales of our Lake District cheese range throughout the country and are currently exploring routes to take the brand to a global audience."
The nationwide campaign follows the brand's move into the latest zip lock reclosable packaging which has enabled the brand to deliver extra value and convenience for consumers.
The Lake District Cheese Company is owned by dairy farmer co-operative First Milk.
