Cost Base Reduction Delivers Further Price Increase For First Milk Members

First Milk has confirmed that they will increase their standard litre price for each milk pool by 0.25ppl from 1 September 2010. This move has been funded by a further reduction in the company's cost base as a result of a continued drive on efficiencies.

Chairman Bill Mustoe commented, "Since the start of 2010 we have increased our standard litre price for the liquid pool by 2.23ppl, while the cheese and balancing pools have seen a 2.17ppl increase.

"We have created momentum within the business and will continue to focus on reducing overhead costs and improving market returns."
