Team Changes in Milk Operations
In our endeavours to improve efficiency within First Milk, we have made a number of people changes within our Milk Operations division.
Mark McQuade has been promoted from director of operations to managing director, Milk Operations. Membership director Alan Taylor will report to Mark. Mark takes over from Jim Maguire, who has been heading the division alongside his role as finance director. This move will free Jim to work with Peter on strategic projects.
Mark began working in the dairy industry in 1994 for Scottish Pride, spent five years with Robert Wiseman Dairies as milk procurement manager and joined First Milk in 2001 to take on the role of sales controller, later adding responsibility for the raw milk distribution function.
Our current membership manager in the North, James Baird, is moving into the role of distribution manager, reporting to Mark McQuade, from 1 June.
James started with the Scottish Milk Marketing Board in 1992 as an area manager in Ayrshire and has held various membership roles over the years. James’ knowledge of our membership will enable him to lead the co-ordination of distribution to our own sites and other processors.
Also from 1 June, Lee Truelove, currently membership manager in the South, will take over responsibility for all of the area managers as membership manager, reporting to Alan Taylor, membership director.
Lee began his dairy career as an area manager with Milk Marque in 1997 and following the merger, took the opportunity to lead the southern membership team. In the past two years, he has broadened his role, most notably with the introduction and management of First Milk Academy.
Neil Pullar of First Milk Direct, will now report to Mark McQuade within the Milk Operations division and will continue to work on the growth of First Milk Direct.
