Following a Board election, Robert Shearlaw has been appointed vice-chairman of First Milk for a three-year term and will commence this role on 1 June 2008.
Richard Greenhalgh, chairman of First Milk, commented:
“Following Board discussions over the last few months and consultation with our local representative population, we decided that the business would benefit from creating a role of vice-chairman.
“This person will actively champion First Milk’s vision and objectives throughout the supply chain. While there will clearly be a member-facing element to this role, we have also had requests from our retailer customers for senior farmer input to help them understand the dairy industry and play a role in developing stronger relationships.
“I congratulate Robert on his appointment and wish him well in this new role.”
