Richard Greenhalgh, Chairman

Richard Greenhalgh, former Executive Chairman of Unilever UK, the multi-national consumer goods and food manufacturing business, was confirmed as First Milk Chairman in November 2004.

With extensive knowledge and experience of driving forward market leading brand development and sales programmes within the highly competitive consumer goods and food manufacturing sectors, coupled with a proven track record in developing co-ordinated key account initiatives with leading UK major multiple retailers, Richard has brought a new, sharper focus to the business following his appointment.

 
Peter Humphreys, Chief Executive
Prior to being appointed CEO of First Milk in November 2005, Peter worked across Europe and China in both large multi-national blue chip corporations and also smaller international private businesses, dealing with retailers at a senior level. His roles focused primarily on managing change, restructuring programmes, and acquisitions and mergers.

He previously worked in the dairy industry with Eden Vale from 1989–94, latterly as Managing Director. Immediately prior to joining First Milk he was Group Chief Executive of CeDo, a leading European manufacturer of disposable household products.
 
Jim Maguire, Finance Director
Jim Maguire has more than 17 years' senior finance experience within the UK dairy sector. As First Milk's Finance Director, Jim is closely involved in all group investment strategy planning and in overseeing First Milk’s interests in a number of our joint venture processing businesses.
 
Tom Campbell, Elected Director
Tom Campbell was elected to the First Milk Board of Directors in June 2004 and runs a 230-acre farm in West Kilbride, Ayrshire, with 90 cows producing over 650,000 litres per year. In his capacity as a Local Representative, Tom represents members in North Ayrshire, Clyde, Central and East.  Tom is Chairman of First Milk Academy.
 
Robert Shearlaw, Elected Director
A First Milk Director since April 2003, Robert runs a 400-acre mixed farm in South Ayrshire, with 180 cows producing 1.5 million litres per year, as well as other livestock and cereals. He is First Milk's Local Representative for South Ayrshire and was previously Convenor of NFU Scotland Milk Committee. Robert was appointed Vice-Chairman of First Milk in June 2008.
 
Roger Evans, Elected Director
Roger Evans runs a 350-acre family farm in Shropshire with his son David. The farm has a dairy herd of 200 milkers plus followers. His farm also produces over 350,000 chickens each year. Roger served as chairman of First Milk between March 2003 and November 2004, and was previously Chairman of Axis Milk, which merged with Scottish Milk to form First Milk in 2001. Roger is a well-known figure within the UK dairy industry and is noted for his award winning agricultural writing and was awarded the 2008 Dairy Industry Award for his outstanding contribution to the industry. Roger is also a Board member of Dairy UK.
 
Beverley Hodson, Non-Executive Director

Beverley Hodson OBE, former Managing Director of WHSmith UK Retail, and former Managing Director of Dolcis Ltd and Cable & Co, subsidiaries of Sears plc, was co-opted onto the First Milk Board as a Non-Executive Director in July 2005.

In addition to her role within First Milk, Beverley also represents the business as our nominated representative on the Robert Wiseman Dairies plc Board – a position agreed as part of First Milk’s 15% share acquisition in the leading UK milk processing business.

 
Richard Davis, Elected Director
Richard runs a 310-acre farm in Bedfordshire. A member of the First Milk Board since 2001, he is also a member of First Milk's Local Representative group, representing East Anglia and the South East. In addition to his role within First Milk, Richard is also Chairman of the Assured Dairy Farms Scheme which manages the Red Tractor logo of national quality assurance in dairy products.  Richard was elected Vice-Chairman of DairyCo in June 2008 and is also a Board member for National NFU Dairy Board.  Richard is also Chairman of First Milk Direct.
 
Mansel Raymond, Elected Director
Mansel Raymond MBE farms 2700 acres in Pembrokeshire in a family partnership with his twin brother Meurig, with two herds totalling over 600 cows. He has served on the First Milk Board since April 2001 and is the Local Representative for the North West Pembrokeshire district. Mansel is Chairman of the Welsh National Farmers Union Milk Board and a Board Member of the NFU of England and Wales.
 
Eric Sanderson, Non-Executive Director
Eric Sanderson, former Chief Executive of group treasury operations with Bank of Scotland Group, former Chief Executive of British Linen Bank, former Managing Director and latterly Executive Chairman of Kwik-Fit Insurance Services Ltd and former Non-Executive Chairman of MyTravel Group plc was co-opted onto the First Milk Board as a Non-Executive Director in March 2006.

Eric is also currently Non-Executive Chairman of Marylebone Warwick Balfour Group Plc, a quoted company engaged in property, hotels and retail, and he is also a member of the Court of the University of Dundee.
