First Milk farmer director Rodger Lindsay has resigned from his position as a main Board director and as Local Representative for Carlisle and the surrounding area.
Rodger commented: “I have greatly enjoyed working on your behalf to develop First Milk over the last few years, however the personal issues that I am currently facing require my full attention. Therefore, I feel that it is better that I stand aside at this point and make way for others who can provide the time commitment required.”
Chairman Richard Greenhalgh paid tribute to Rodger: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Rodger for his contribution towards the development of First Milk. His extensive knowledge of the dairy industry, coupled with an unwaivering belief in the benefits of the co-operative model, has been invaluable as we have re-shaped this business in recent years.”
There will now be elections for both a new Board Director and for a Local Representative over the coming weeks. The Board Director’s position will be filled by an existing northern-based Local Representative. All 27 current Local Representatives will vote for their preferred candidate with the winner being chosen on 31 July.
A new Local Representative for Carlisle and Surrounding Area will be elected in a separate contest, as you can see from the notice below.
