More than 600 Scottish stores from Wick to Gretna and Ayr to Aberdeen will now be stocked with our Scottish Pride cheddar.
Tesco, the final major retailer to list our everyday family cheddar, put stocks in their chiller cabinets this month and you can also buy Scottish Pride in every Asda, Sainsburys, Somerfield, The Co-operative, Morrisons and Spar outlet in Scotland.
Richard Hollingdale, Sales & Marketing Director for The First Milk Cheese Company, is delighted with the achievements, given that the brand was launched just last summer at The Royal Highland Show.
“Scottish Pride was our first launch for the new First Milk Cheese Company so it was very important from an emotional perspective that we got the proposition right and that the brand was successful. Scottish Pride clearly sits within our strategy of developing cheese brands which are supported with a strong heritage. The fact that all of the major retailers in Scotland have supported the brand gives us a strong indication that they agree with our proposition of ‘Scottish Farmers – Scottish Milk – Scottish Cheddar’.
“We appreciate the support members have given us over the last six months and we look forward to continued strong sales.”
Looking ahead, there are plans to increase the level of marketing support for the brand throughout 2008, now that we have full distribution across the major retailers.
If your local supermarket does not stock one of our brands, then speak to the store manager and encourage them to add it to their chiller cabinet.
