Six of our Local Representatives have been re-elected unopposed while members in a further three districts are facing a members’ vote to determine their new Local Representative.
If you’ve been sent voting papers for your district, then you still have time to cast your vote as the election closes at 3pm on Friday February 22nd.
The following members continue to serve as a Local Representative for their area, having been returned unopposed:
• Robert Shearlaw – South Ayrshire • Alistair Nelson – Machars, Stewartry • Jim Black – East Dumfriesshire • Michael Haskew – Herefordshire with Brecon & Radnor • Alan Warrington – Staffordshire • Ben Pullen – Gloucestershire
Elections are being held in Northumberland, County Durham & North Yorkshire; Ceredigion; and South Carmarthenshire.
Current Local Representative Terry Hodgson has decided not to stand again for Northumberland, County Durham & North Yorkshire and there will be a two-way election between Philip Stevenson and Thomas Cummins.
In Ceredigion, we have a three-way contest with incumbent Eryl Price being challenged by John Evans and Iwan Griffiths.
And in South Carmarthenshire, former Local Representative Ogwyn Evans is facing David Gravell.
Members in those districts have already been sent their papers and all votes should be returned to Company Secretary Angus Waugh by 3pm on Friday 22nd February.
The successful candidates will be informed by telephone on the 22nd and letters will be sent to members in those areas in the following days. The new Local Representatives will take office on 1st March for a three year term.
