Ever wondered how we meet retailers’ needs? Tried to get your head round the whole supply chain and what that means? Well now, First Milk Academy has the answers.
In conjunction with English Farming & Food Partnerships (EFFP), First Milk Academy is hosting a ‘Walk the Supply Chain’ event in Shropshire in late March to enable members to better understand the entire journey from farm gate to supermarket shelf.
The day starts on a farm where a nutritionalist will hold discussions on producing milk for the liquid market and this will be followed with a trip to First Milk’s Droitwich distribution depot where there will be discussions with the depot manager and First Milk distribution team about balancing customer requirements and farm output. After lunch there will be a tour of the facilities at Robert Wiseman Dairies – Droitwich followed by further discussions on the whole supply chain and understanding factory and retailer requirements.
All costs for the event will be met by EFFP and members who attend the session will receive a free pair of tickets to the Grassland & Muck 2008 event at Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on 21 and 22 May. Any members wishing to attend should contact their Area Manager as places will be given on a first-come-first served basis.
