We have just finished an excellent AGM conference in Cumbria. The feedback has been very positive with several members already looking to sign up for the 2008 event! This year, we extended the event in order to create a mini conference for members, providing more information to help us all to gain a wider understanding of our industry and our business.

The Last Word: Jim McLaren

As head of the National Farmers Union Scotland, and a dairy farmer himself, Jim McLaren knows what he’s talking about when it comes to the dairy industry. Not only does he understand cows - he milks 300- he also knows about selling milk, being a producer-retailer. Jim’s determination and commitment to the dairy farmer’s cause was one of the reasons he was elected to the top job in NFUS in March. Delivering Our Mission With Our Hauliers

A series of meetings have been arranged across the country with our hauliers, who as key partners, have an integral role to play in helping us achieve our mission of making our members better off with First Milk. Supervisors and depot managers are being invited to the sessions where they will be given presentations on activities within the wider First Milk business as well as information on sales, membership and distribution.
