First Milk Cheese Company
Award Winning Cheeses
The First Milk cheese Company is the largest UK-based cheese producer and was formed in October 2006 following First Milk's acquistion of Dairy Crest's private label cheese processing business. One of the key strands of the business is to work with major retailers to develop and innovate their retailer brand cheese.
Our growing range of cheese products have won many accolades for their excellence, taste and eating enjoyment
With creameries in England, Scotland and Wales, it is the only cheese maker that can supply English cheese from English milk, Welsh cheese from Welsh milk and Scottish cheese from Scottish milk. It produces approximately 55,000 tonnes of cheese and purchases a further 20,000 tonnes from wholesale and specialist cheese suppliers in order to provide a one-stop shop for retailer and food service customers.
Being a membership co-operative, First Milk knows exactly where the milk it supplies to the creameries has come from and can also guarantee that is of the highest quality for cheese making.
Cheeses of distinction:
The First Milk Cheese Company produces a range of high quality cheddars with distinctive origins.
From Scotland comes the award-winning, premium range of cheeses: Isle of Bute, Isle of Arran and Mull of Kintyre and the much-loved Scottish Pride everyday family cheddar. In Wales, the Haverfordwest creamery is now producing Soil Association accredited organic cheese. While in England, The Lake District creamery produces cheese which was won the Best UK Cheddar prize at the world renowned Nantwich cheese show on two occasions.
