The impacts of the credit crunch are far-reaching and are now affecting supplies of sawdust.

Why? Quite simply, the down turn in the housing market and the removal of many mortgage offers has created a significant slowdown in the number of new homes being constructed. As a result, many workers associated with the building trade have also been made redundant.

The impact on dairy farmers means that we are seeing a reduction in the availability of sawdust for bedding, as a result of the reduction in wood being used to construct homes.
