Three First Milk tankers have been liveried up with giant images of model Nell McAndrew wearing a milk moustache.
The Scottish Dairy Marketing Company has provided the funding for the move which promotes the ‘Celebrity Milk Moustache’ campaign in Scotland to highlight the benefits and encourage more people of all ages, to drink milk.
The tankers are based at the Mauchline depot but will be seen throughout Scotland delivering milk to a range of our customers.
Giant images of Nell will appear on both sides of the barrel while our First Milk logo will appear on the rear dome.
This is the third year of this campaign and the results are showing positive changes in consumers’ attitude and increased volume figures.
Milk consumption figures were up in Scotland by 4.5% compared to 2.5% increase in England and Wales.
With the proven success of the Scottish campaign, there is a desire to get a similar campaign running throughout Britain.
Head of Distribution James Baird said it was important for First Milk to play its part in promoting milk to the wider community and our vehicles provide an excellent advertising space.
“Our tankers and re-load barrels are seen by thousands of motorists and passers-by each day so this type of advertising is perfect for raising awareness of the benefits of drinking milk,” said James.
