First Milk will be one of the key sponsors of a two-day food extravaganza on the Isle of Bute in May.
eatBute08 is a celebration of local food and will showcase the best produce from Bute and the surrounding areas while at the same time highlighting to farmers, producers and consumers, the importance of producing and consuming food that is good, clean and fair.
The event organisers, the Mount Stuart Trust, want to raise awareness and enhance economic opportunities for Bute and Argyll producers and make eatBute a regular event.
Over the two days there will be visits by invited guests, celebrity chefs and media around a number of local producers, including our Rothesay creamery. In the evening, a dinner cooked by celebrity chefs will be hosted by the Marquis of Bute.
A farmers’ market will also be held within the grounds of Mount Stuart – and our creamery will once again play a leading role.
Graham Sheach, our First Milk Cheese Company Regional Brand Controller for Scotland, believes the event will provide a superb ‘shop window’ for our Isle of Bute brand.
“Our involvement with eatBute08 gives us an ideal opportunity to talk directly to consumers about our award-winning Isle of Bute cheese. We will supply a specially selected Isle of Bute cheese for guests at the dinner and our cheese will also be used by the celebrity chefs in their cookery demonstrations.
“We also hope our members supplying the creamery will come and support us at the farmers’ market on Saturday.”
